St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital’s Auxiliary Announces Winners of Annual Photography Contest

Lexi Nemeth with The Methodist Hospital is the Best in Show award recipient of the Annual Photography Contest hosted by St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital’s Auxiliary. More than 40 Texas Medical Center personnel, medical staff and volunteers participated by submitting nearly 80 photographs. All submissions were judged by Jean Caslin of Caslin Gregory and Associates, Consultants to the Arts.

Of the winning image, Caslin said, “In this abstract color composition, I sense the passage of time. The artist helped me experience this scene of reflections on water in a new way, and for that I am grateful.”

In addition to the Best of Show award, first and second place winners were chosen in each of the six categories.

First Place Winners

  • Brian Schnupp, The University of Texas School of Dentistry (cityscapes)
  • Craig Johnson, Baylor College of Medicine (people)
  • George Younis, St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital (wildlife and animals)
  • Sandy Grimm, Baylor College of Medicine (abstracts)
  • Laszlo Perlaky , Baylor College of Medicine (black and white)

Second Place Winners

  • Mark Chan, St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital (nature and landscapes)
  • Mike Metcalf, The Methodist Hospital (cityscapes)
  • Brian Schnupp, The University of Texas School of Dentistry (people)
  • William Wells, St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital (wildlife and animals)
  • Lyn Jones, St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital (abstracts)
  • Debra Ham, St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital (black and white)

Honorable Mentions

The winning selections are showcased in St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital’s first floor hallway gallery for the remainder of the year. The Best in Show winning photograph will be permanently displayed in the Best of Show Gallery.
