St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital (St. Luke’s) recently opened its new Oncology Medical Clinic to provide evaluation and treatment of medical oncology and blood disorders.

Onsite services include diagnostic radiology, infusion services, radiation oncology, peripheral vascular testing and bone marrow biopsy. Under the leadership of Luis H. Camacho, MD, the Clinic will offer oncology clinical trials as additional patient options in the treatment of their disease.

“An extension of St. Luke’s cancer program, the medical oncology clinic will focus on advancements to diagnose the cause of cancer and strategies to treat symptoms and disease, as well as the development of a more integrative approach,” says Margaret M. Van Bree, DrPH, Chief Executive Officer of St. Luke’s and Senior Vice President of St. Luke’s Episcopal Health System. “Dr. Camacho’s extensive expertise in the area of research will be a tremendous benefit to our oncology patients, as well as to the entire St. Luke’s Health System, as he monitors quality and advances clinical research initiatives.”

Dr. Camacho also serves as Medical Director for the Cancer Center at St. Luke’s, which in 2011 was once again awarded a three-year Accreditation with Commendation from the Commission on Cancer.
